DC² Divorce Coaching
Slow the Pace, Strengthen the Process
Clients going through divorce or separation often struggle to absorb advice, complete tasks or make grounded decisions. Stress and trauma can push them outside what Dr Dan Siegel calls the window of tolerance - the zone where we feel regulated enough to think clearly, communicate calmly and stay engaged with what’s in front of us. When clients move into overwhelm (hyperarousal) or shutdown (hypoarousal), the legal process can slow, and the emotional load on professionals can rise.
A trauma-informed collaborative approach helps clients return to regulation, stay engaged and respond more thoughtfully. This often means fewer crises, clearer instructions and smoother case progression. For practitioners, it supports stronger boundaries, reduced emotional strain and more sustainable working relationships.
Professionals commonly refer clients when they see high overwhelm, avoidance, repeated urgent communication, difficulty processing advice, escalating conflict or trauma responses such as shutdown or panic. Referrals can be made at any stage - early on, mid-process to regain momentum, after a flare-up or alongside mediation or financial planning.
This support helps clients stay regulated, focused and engaged, allowing you to concentrate on the specialist work that only you can deliver.
How We Can Work Together
There are several ways we can work together to support your clients; my role is to complement your expertise by helping clients manage the emotional and practical weight of divorce or separation, so they can engage more clearly and constructively with your advice.

Direct Client Support
You introduce the client to me, and I work with them privately while keeping boundaries around legal/financial advice firmly in place.
Clients often benefit from:
-
Emotional regulation support
-
Help preparing for key meetings
-
Assistance with communicating instructions and documentation for Form E (and other forms)
-
Understanding communication patterns with their ex
-
Staying focused and organised through the process

Collaborative Case Support
With appropriate consent, we can work in parallel around your preferred processes.
This may include:

-
Helping with pacing and communication
-
Reducing conflict behaviours that stall progress
-
Identifying emotional blocks interfering with decision-making

-
Maintaining boundaries and practitioner wellbeing
Formats include 60 - 90 minute talks (ideal for lunch & learns), half-day workshops, full-day training, and bespoke sessions.
